Inspired by leap seconds I wonder if we might further maintain alignment between earth's properties and the scales we use to measure them by adding "leap degrees" to our user-centric notion of Fahrenheit temperature. With regular adjustments a cold winter morning could still be zero and a hot summer day 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Problem solved. wikipedia
