How about a "draft" mode to let others know that a post is "in progress" (or hasn't been fact-checked yet)?
Yeah, this comes up a bunch. And I think it's a serious issue. I often will leave a bunch of question marks, e.g. (??? Help with cite?) and make it look a bit messy if I'm worried people will take it too seriously.
The flip side is (not to be cute) wiki should always be in draft mode, so I worry about calling something draft mode.
One solution we've looked at is having two sites for material -- one kind of development site with friends and one a more ready for the world thing for other publics.
